Still waiting

For Change

Feinstein swings a sweetheart financial deal for her hubby by using her post in Government. Barney's buddies at Freddie and Fannie get bonuses.

Little to know media coverage of this stuff.

I thought the era of corrupt government was over? I heard there would be change. I guess there is change because now the corruption is right in your face.

The arrogance is amazing as the pompous Barney yells down a student who dares to challenge the great Barney.

and now because Mr. Obama can not get legislation in place to outright ban weapons or ammo, he and his team are entering into treaty negotiations with Mexico that would make reloading and otherwise adjusting your weapons illegal---

It then gives authority for that activity only with "a license from a competent governmental authority of the State Party where the manufacture or assembly takes place."
"The section … clearly identifies ammo reloaders that are not licensed by the government as 'Illicit Manufacturers' of ammunition. Now that we have reloaders properly labeled, lets move down to Article IV to see what we should do with them," the commentary said.
He then quotes Article IV, which states, "State Parties that have not yet done so shall adopt the necessary legislative or other measures to establish as criminal offenses under their domestic law the illicit manufacturing of and trafficking in firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other related materials."
"This is pretty straightforward. If you reload ammunition without a license after the treaty is signed you will be a criminal," Lawson wrote.
The National Rifle Association said the treaty "does include language suggesting that it is not intended to restrict 'lawful ownership and use' of firearms. Despite those words, the NRA knows that anti-gun advocates will still try to use this treaty to attack gun ownership in the U.S."
The treaty is available online.

Many of you say big deal but remember this is how it begins a little bit at a time. First you outlaw reloading, then you raise the taxes on new ammo , and then you limit the amount of ammo one can have on hand. Think I am crazy, gold was outlawed and seized in America in the past yes gold. Look it up.

I am stunned

Every day or nearly ever day I am stunned by the news. Keep in mind I only pay attention to probably less than half of what is going on and I am stunned.

Senior Obama officials calling the tea parties "unhealthy" are you kidding me. Americans exercising their right to peaceable assembly and Free Speech is unhealthy...

Bills in the Congress to not only bail out newspapers but grant licenses as to who can publish news? are you kidding me am I the only one that sees this as the end of free speech. Oh sure everyone else will still get to publish but only the Official news will be what the government decides is official--this does not send a chill up your spine?

Ex military folks declared as possible terrorists?

Obama effectively saying "let them eat cake" in response to the tea parties and taxes. He went on about how he gave 95% of us a tax cut. There has been no reduction in the tax rate he just had Congress pass a bill to reduce withholding. You will be paying the same amount of tax you always have. In fact you will probably end up oweing this year instead of getting refund because you are getting your refund at a rate of $13 per week. Even if we did get a tax cut when are we going to repay all this new debt? and how?

And now the government is going to decide which banks can repay the tarp money and which can not...seriously government is going to decide whether or not something is operating profitably? seriously the biggest wastor of money on the planet is going to sit in judgement.

The America Apologies tour is over but what are the long term ramifications.....Iran says screw you and jails a reporter and then says Obama should not talk it, China and Russia tell us to get lost on sanctions or even a stern letter to North Korea but they salivate at the idea of a treay for arms reductions....I wonder why. Pakistan says send us some money no strings attached. Europe says very nice speech and thanks for stopping by but it is still all your fault and no we are not supporting anything. and then Latin America....I do not even know when to begin here. oh wait and North Korea is told in no uncertain terms that they had better not launch and then they do and.........................the Obama apology turn begins.

I am a terrorist

I am not the author of this but I agree with and so I offer it here to my readers

Apparently I am a person capable of being a “man made disaster” propagator. I never realized I was such a bad person until the Dept. of Homeland Security outlined me as such. And I bet a good many of you folks are in the same situation.

I believe that Congress should control its spending just like me and my family are required to do during difficult financial times. I believe in less taxation. Money in my pocket is money that is spent to boost our sick economy. I support the Constitution as it was written by our forefathers, not as a document to be changed and modeled after EU documents. I believe that the 2nd Amendment guarantees my right to own a gun for my self defense, and does not only apply to a state militia. I am anti-abortion, as it is plain murder of the unborn, and I am against illegal immigration. US Citizenship is a dear possession and should not be handed out like dirt to anyone who illegally crosses our borders. I support the rights of any legal US citizen to runs for office, even on a third party ticket. I believe in free speech as guaranteed by the Constitution. It is my right to grow a vegetable garden without Federal interference, as I am the one who eats the fruits of that labor. And I am anti-United Nations. The US is a sovereign nation and has the God given right to national self-determination. It should never be subjugated to the will of any nation or nations.

So there you have it. When I was a younger man those terms above would have been describing a patriot, or at least a good US citizen. Now it means right wing “terrorist.” What have I and this nation come to?

Authors name omitted to protect him because in this "New America" he may be presecuted for such "radical" beliefs

Still waiting for change

It's Day 86 so there are still a few more days before the end of the highly promoted first Hundred Days of Change. So things could chnage but with only 2 weeks left and so little accomplished this is probably as good a time as ever to start the evaluations.

GITMO during the campaign there was a speech a day on how this would be closed. Today the message is the situation is complicated and we are considering putting them in a prison in Virginia. Sidebar--of course the trial for the bomber of the USS Cole was stopped and yes on paper GITMO has been closed.

IRAQ during the campaign there was a speech a day on how we would be out of Iraq beginning from day one. Divisions would start coming home 1 or 2 a month. Then it was 16 months, then it was 30,000-50,000 would stay. Today, the message is we are responding to the military leaders in the field, the conditions, and ultimately we may have to delay the withdrawal. sidebar to cover this up there was a media blitz claiming failures in Afghanistan.

IRAN/North Korea
Stern words and like everything else some good speeches from the teleprompter or giant screen TV but ultimately the leaders of these countries realized what we have not. North Korea launches a missile and Iran says honest we just want nuclear power. sidebar--Obama fails to grasp the complexity of foreign affairs and calls for UN condemnation without understanding the positions of China and Russia.

Defense
In response to NK launch and other World events, Obama puts forth a budget that cuts the development and deployment of missile dterrent systems in Alaska and offers to cut our weapons stock piles. Of course Russia and China like this idea.

Economy
Constitutionally not the responsibility of government but we threw away the Constitution so long ago who really cares. To prove the O team and the Dmeos care more than Reps, the Demos pass an even bigger misguided spending bill that is guaranteed to slow economic growth and saddle our great grandchildren with massive debt but not before you and I suffer hyper inflation sometime in late 2009 or 2010. The stock market essentailly crashes until George Soros and his buddies dump some cash to prop it up. Meanwhile Russia and China call for a new monetary unit.

Immigration
A miniwar has developed on our southern border and here again a few nice speeches a few troops and we are on a trip to Europe where he bad mouths Americans. Sidebar also the practice of raiding companies is essentially scraped unless the company is AIG.

Investments
Speaking of bad investments how about investing billions of tax payers dollars into GM and in less than 100 days realizing the company is not going to make it any way.

Corruption swept away
Ok, here i have to hand it to him after all Bush only found one person that was evading taxes during his appointments. This guy found a whole bunch of folks. Of course I would argue corrupt people are always corrupt.

Pirates
Yep, a real victory here. He brought the entire force of the US Navy to bear on 4 teenage boys and won. Wow amazing. Anyone stop to ask why after years the Somilia Pirates decided to attack not just one American ship but since Obama's nice speech about pirates a second ship? The pirates were not in any way affected by our actions in fact they are probably more eager than ever to beat us again.

Tax cuts for the Middle class
this is another beautiful piece of posturing. The o Team merely changed the withholding tables at the end of the year you will be paying the same tax rate. When you factor in the changes elsewhere in the tax code we all will be paying more taxes.

And the Demos what to us to believe the tea parties are contrived. The O team has a complete lack of understanding of people and events both at home and abroad.

Keep in mind these are the days planned for ahead of time so they should represent the best efforts and agenda of the President before things start to be more reactive than proactive.

Monthly Update on National Debt

Faithful followers I forgot to update the National Debt

but here is it 4/10/2009

over 11 trillion now

$11,152,454,775,575

that's $36,448 per person

You liberals are so guible

Lost in the middle of stories of pirates, tax cheating Democrats, and bowing to foreign leaders is the fact that Obama failed to make good on his number one promise during the campaign.

He promised to get us out Iraq. He made it sound like the orders would begin within the first 100 days. He promised by May 2009 troops would heading home. Then he said 16 months and now it is more like 19 months with some on the ground saying maybe not even then because the insurgency has show renewed strength.

What I really enjoy is how CNN and the other drooling brain dead journalist report this new plan by Obama as though it is just that a new plan. It is the same Bush plan for withdrawal that Bush put into place last fall.

The whole thing is a farce and you liberals are a guible lot of lemmings blindly following and say wow like dogs following their masters.

Still waiting for this new era of oversight in Washington

Ok let me get this straight

Chris Dodd's wife was an exec at AIG and Chris Dodd accidentally wrote legislation benefitting AIG execs getting bonuses

then there is this

Rahm Emanuel's profitable stint at mortgage giant
Short Freddie Mac stay made him at least $320,000
By Bob Secter and Andrew Zajac Tribune reporters
Before its portfolio of bad loans helped trigger the current housing crisis, mortgage giant Freddie Mac was the focus of a major accounting scandal that led to a management shake-up, huge fines and scalding condemnation of passive directors by a top federal regulator. One of those allegedly asleep-at-the-switch board members was Chicago's Rahm Emanuel—now chief of staff to President Barack Obama—who made at least $320,000 for a 14-month stint at Freddie Mac that required little effort.

Reportedly Obama also got 100,000 from AIG in campaign contributions

Bonnie Frank and a bunch of Obama advisors were previously employed by Fannie and Freddie who are also at the heart of this mess.

but wait some fannie and freedie execs are also getting bonuses

and do not forget the 60 billion that was laundered to banks not in the US through AIG

and this is the new open and honest Washington

bring back Nixon
